Changed#
[CAD Converter] Fixed an issue where the conversion subprocess could block the main Kit thread when using the omni.services.convert.cad extension.
[CAD Converter] Platform, Config, and Python targets are now explicitly specified for JT extension packages on codeless linux-aarch64 builds.
[CAD Converter] Improved logging. Added DiagnosticLogConsumer to parse status, warn, and error logs from backend converter libraries.
[JT Converter] Publish “codeless” JT Converter extensions for ARM64 platforms.
Known Limitations#
Some DGN geometry data is not supported and will not convert USD mesh. If you have an example of such a DGN file, please let us know so we can troubleshoot and fix any remaining issues.
Converting to USD can take more memory and CPU power depending on the type of data and Tessellation settings. File size is not an indicator of how fast a conversion will be or how much memory is required. In most cases, we recommend a minimum of 16 GB. Complex files will need a minimum of 32 GB of memory available for conversion.
PMI and BIM data is not converted for the following formats: .dgn, .jt, .fbx, .obj, .gltf, .glb, .ply, .lxo, .md5, .e57, and .pts.
