Fixed#

  • Some file conversions would hang or freeze the Alias application.

  • Crash occurs in some environments after installing the connector.

Improved#

  • Updated to Client Library 2.49.2.

  • Updated to Scene Optimizer 106.0.15.

Known Limitations#

  • Only compatible with Alias 2023 and 2024. Alias 2025 is not supported, however Autodesk Alias AutoStudio 2025 now supports OpenUSD natively.

  • Names in USD may only contain alphanumeric characters and “_” [underscore], therefore all other special characters and umlauts are replaced by their hexadecimal representation.

  • You may need to run Fix Layer assignment in order to mach a valid USD representation.

The Omniverse Alias connector is licensed as a Community Product that is free to use as is and we may update the software from time to time but we make no support commitments.

Please ensure you are using Alias 2024 as the Alias Connector is only compatible with this version. All older versions of the Alias Connectors (2022 - 2023) are available on the Omniverse Launcher until they are deprecated on October 1, 2025.
