Monitoring
Monitoring your Enterprise Nucleus Server is important to understanding the general health of the system and if additional resources are required for increased performance or storage capacity.
We recommend the following parameters are monitored at a minimum:
CPU
Memory (RAM)
Storage
Network Adapter
If your Enterprise Nucleus Server is virtualized using VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V, both hypervisors provide useful tools for monitoring server performance and behavior. Additionally, if your Enterprise Nucleus Server is hosted on a Cloud Service Provider (CSP), helpful tools and dashboards are also generally available and provided.
Moreover, the Nucleus stack itself exposes several metrics about its usage and utilization (i.e., number of requests per user, per request type, etc.) and can be captured using a tool such as Prometheus, then further graphed using Grafana as shown in the example below:
Refer to the Networking and TCP/IP Ports document for a list of ports used by the Enterprise Nucleus Server and other Omniverse products.
